Fall is my favorite season. I was raised in southern California (in an area where, even in winter, it rarely dips below 60 degrees) and I've never learned to love the heat. To me, fall signifies the changing of the seasons to cooler temperatures (if only slightly), the coming consumption of warm drinks and spiced flavors, and acceptability of pairing boots with every outfit. It also signifies pumpkin everything, including, apparently, face masks. And this year, I've found my favorite mask of them all.

Ironically, I found this pumpkin face mask dead smack in the middle of the summer. That's right — it's available year-round, so if you happen to like it, too, you needn't worry about getting too attached to a seasonal product. The mask in question is Andalou Naturals' Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask, which is a brightening formula that contains vitamin C, manuka honey, glycolic acid, and, of course, pumpkin puree.

Due to the addition of the pumpkin puree, the mask is a bit thick — almost like a pumpkin mousse — and feels luxurious on the skin. It also smells absolutely wonderful. You can feel the glycolic acid working to brighten and slough off dead skin (it's a chemical exfoliant, after all) but it's not too harsh. The instructions say to leave the mask on for 10 minutes one to three times a week, and I've noticed acne scars lightening and an overall brighter complexion.

The mask is $14.99 on Ulta, and personally, I think it's a steal. I'm about halfway though my first jar, and it's a product I'll definitely buy again. Right now, Andalou Naturals products are buy-one-get-one 40 percent off, and I can also vouch for the Turmeric Enlight Serum ($24.99) and the Probiotic + C Renewal Cream (also $24.99).
